War games in Ukraine

I have the feeling that they want to get us into a war over Ukraine.

It is true that Russia is not an exemplary democracy.

But when has it ever been?

Only under Kerensky. Between the first (February) and the second Russian revolution (October). Just a few months. And in the middle of the First World War.

What Ukraine and Russia should do is understand each other. Just a few years ago a military conflict between the two countries was unthinkable.

It is true that Russia has appropriated Crimea, but it was ceded to Ukraine in the 1950s when it was part of the USSR.

And the fractious regions have a large Russian-speaking population.

Moreover, during the famous Orange Revolution, CIA director Johan Brennan appeared in Kiev. He was on holiday, of course. I don't want to be wrong-headed

I think the West's support for Ukraine is a way of trying to weaken Putin's Russia.

For all its faults, Russia deserves respect.

It has been a superpower and remains a political, economic and military power.

Moreover, we import more than 40% of our gas and 20% of our oil.

If we don't build nuclear power stations either, how will we keep warm in winter?

And for the record, I am not a strong supporter of nuclear energy either.

Gorbachev is said to have agreed to the reunification of Germany in exchange for the West not extending NATO to the East.

Add to all this Joe Biden's plummeting poll numbers.

The external enemy is always cohesive.

Remember Margaret Thatcher, with the Falklands War, who swept the next election.

So what strikes me so powerfully is that, for weeks now, the whole world has been preparing us for war.

Western leaders, the media. No critical voices have been raised. Or simply sceptical ones.

The conflict should be de-escalated before it is too late.

That is why I increasingly agree with German Vice-Admiral Kay-Achim Schönbach, who also expressed doubts. A brave man considering his profession and rank.

Or Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

And for the record, I am neither pro-Russian, nor left-wing, nor particularly pacifist.

Thank you Mr. Rius for your brave and bold definition of yourself, "spanish and not lelf-wing", considering that in Catalonia the real freedom of speech is very limited and if you don´t define yourself as pro-independance your are defined as a fascist and totalitarian straight away.

Well done! )))

In truth, it is a fight between the US and Russia to establish geostrategic, military and economic quotas of power (while China sits watching while it rapidly increases its military and scientific power) in which they are using the NATO countries and Ukraine as puppets with a total disregard for lives and their social and economic future
